How to distinguish い adjectives and な adjectives
There are two types of adjectives in Japanese: い adjectives and な adjectives.
How can we tell an adjective is an い adjective or a な adjective?

- Level 1: Memorize some of the common exceptions using the memory tip in the video
- Level 2: Look at the kanji. If the last い is part of the kanji, it’s a な adjective
- Level 3: Look at the structure. If the stem of ます form verb is used as an adjective, it’s a な adjective
